In New Mexico, there are 67 chambers of commerce serving a population of 2,084,828 people over an area of 121,267 square miles. The state of New Mexico ranks 46th in the Chamber of Commerce per square mile, and the Chamber is responsible for promoting economic development by positioning Santa Fe, New Mexico, as a destination that offers a variety of opportunities for business, tourism, business development and economic growth. There is also a strong focus on education and community development, as demonstrated by the degrees awarded by state schools and colleges and by the school completion rate.

In the last fiscal year, these groups contributed more than $2.5 million in grants and $1.7 million from the $3.1 million budget. Local artists contribute to the museum's annual budget of $4.4 million, or about $7,000 a month.

The project was supported in part by a National Endowment for the Arts award and in part by a $1.5 million grant from New Mexico State University. It is exhibited in regional exhibitions throughout the year and is on display at the Museum of Contemporary Art, New York City, through October.

The Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that has been operating in Los Alamos, New Mexico, since 1983.

The museum's collection includes over 20,000 objects related to the people and history of southwestern New Mexico and housed in the restored home of the Science and Technology Museum of Los Alamos National Laboratory. The museum celebrates the history, culture and heritage of Los Angeles County and its people.
